Korea's #1 Online Booking Solution ONDA Launches Booking Platform for Southeast Asian Hotels

(Press Release — December 22, 2021) ONDA, Korea's leading online booking solution provider, is launching a hotel booking platform optimized for attracting Korean travelers.

On the 22nd, ONDA announced the opening of a dedicated booking page (global.onda.me) that enables Southeast Asian hotels to start using its solution immediately, with pre-registrations now open.

ONDA is a five-year-old hospitality tech startup operating in three areas: online booking solutions (OBS), global distribution systems (GDS), and hotel management (HM). The company recently raised ₩9.5 billion in pre-Series B funding as it accelerates digital transformation in the hospitality industry.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, ONDA is the only Korean hotel booking solution capable of delivering massive Korean customer volume to hotels. The platform comes standard with ONDA GDS, Korea's largest accommodation distribution network.

ONDA GDS (Global Distribution Service) connects accommodation inventory with online sales channels and handles real-time booking transactions. The platform distributes 380,000 rooms from 38,000 properties across 31 major Korean portals, OTAs, and e-commerce platforms including Naver, 11st, Tmon, and Yeogi Eottae. Global OTA channels operating in Korea — Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb — can also be accessed for free through ONDA's channel manager (CMS).

Cumulative room transaction volume surpassed ₩200 billion in early 2021, growing over 60% annually for the past three years. During the same period, revenue per room increased 140%, demonstrating mutual growth with hotel partners.

ONDA was also selected as Korea's first Google Hotel Partner. Hotels using ONDA's online booking engine automatically appear on Google Hotel, Google's D2C (Direct to Customer) hotel search and booking service. The booking engine can be embedded on hotels' official websites and customized as needed. Looking ahead, ONDA plans to enable D2C sales through KakaoTalk, Korea's dominant messaging platform.

D2C sales channels like Google Hotel and KakaoTalk offer hotels a major advantage: direct customer relationships through official hotel websites rather than external platforms. This reduces commissions previously paid to intermediary channels and enables customer database building for CRM marketing.

"When quarantine restrictions lift, Southeast Asia's countless tourist destinations will top Korean travelers' wish lists," said ONDA CEO Oh Hyun-seok. "Hotels shouldn't miss this opportunity to connect with Korean customers and deliver seamless booking experiences through ONDA's hotel booking solution."
