- Deputy CEO Park Chan-un: "We're building an AI-powered RMS with AWS"
(Press Release — November 8, 2024) "ONDA solved massive data processing challenges — security, cost, compatibility — using Amazon QuickSight. Now we're using those insights to make critical business decisions. We're also partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build an AI-powered Revenue Management System."
Park Chan-un, Deputy CEO of ONDA's Business Group, spoke at AWS Industry Week 2024 at COEX Convention Center on November 7. He shared how ONDA leverages the AWS platform for big data insights and outlined the company's AI roadmap.
"As ONDA grew quickly, we ran into new challenges," Park said. "More sales channels meant more opportunities — but also exponentially more data complexity." He explained that during a trip to AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas in 2022, he encountered use cases for Amazon QuickSight and immediately saw the fit. "It was exactly what we needed."
Amazon QuickSight is a fully managed, cloud-native business intelligence (BI) service that delivers easy-to-understand insights. It connects to data in the cloud, combines data from multiple sources, and unifies AWS data, third-party data, big data, spreadsheets, SaaS data, and B2B data into a single dashboard.
Park detailed how ONDA used Amazon QuickSight to: ▲ Build a data warehouse (migrating analog data to digital infrastructure), ▲ Integrate data across the entire organization and create customized real-time dashboards, and ▲ Drive business strategy and risk management from those dashboards. Last year, ONDA processed approximately 1.4 million reservations through this system. This year, the number is expected to reach 1.8 million.
Park also laid out ONDA's vision for AI-powered products.
"The RMS (Revenue Management System) we're building uses AI to recommend optimal pricing in real time — maximizing revenue for properties," he said. "This service will be powered by AWS infrastructure designed to support AI development." <End>
