(Press Release = January 26, 2024) Korean hospitality tech company ONDA is bringing Taiwan's largest smart hotel chain directly to Korean travelers.
ONDA (CEO Oh Hyun-seok) announced on January 26 that it signed an MOU with Taiwan's Town & Country Hotel Group the previous day to supply rooms from the chain's properties to Korean distribution channels.
Town & Country Group operates 9 brands, 53 hotels, and over 4,000 rooms across Taiwan. The group is aggressively courting international visitors in the post-pandemic era. Its portfolio spans family-friendly resorts, business hotels, design hotels, and international tourist hotels — covering diverse traveler needs.
According to Town & Country, 550,000 Koreans visited Taiwan in 2023, accounting for 6.9% of all foreign visitors. Local projections expect Korean arrivals to grow 50%+ this year, reaching 10.4% of total tourism.
ONDA signed the MOU to meet rising Korean demand for Taiwan travel and offer competitive pricing by going direct. Town & Country's smart hotel infrastructure is expected to deliver a seamless hospitality experience for Korean guests.
"Our vision is to provide sustainable, innovative lodging experiences," said Wu Bing-ting, CEO of Town & Country International. "We're excited to deliver excellent stays for Korean tourists in Taiwan."
"We signed this MOU to make Taiwan travel easier and more affordable for Koreans," said ONDA CEO Oh Hyun-seok. "We'll continue bringing world-class hotels and accommodations to the Korean market."
ONDA covers roughly 60–70% of Korea's online hotel transaction market. The company has built strong partnerships with global tech platforms — it was Korea's first Airbnb Premier Partner and Google Hotels partner.
ONDA was the first Korean company to rank on Skift's global PMS vendor list (34th), and was named to the Financial Times' Asia-Pacific High-Growth Companies list two years running (2022–2023). Last year, the company was selected for Korea's "Baby Unicorn Plus" program. <끝>
