- Strengthening RM expertise to maximize hotel and hospitality revenue

(Press Release — February 5, 2024 / Monday) Hospitality tech company ONDA is teaming up with AI and big data solutions provider Impact AI to develop core features for revenue management (RM) systems.

ONDA (CEO Oh Hyun-seok) announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Impact AI (CEO Park Sung-hyuk) to research dynamic pricing for hotels and accommodations.

The two companies plan to build a dynamic pricing system based on real-world pricing data — combining ONDA's domestic hospitality data and platform integration expertise with Impact AI's artificial intelligence and big data capabilities.

Dynamic pricing is a cornerstone revenue management strategy that adjusts rates in real time based on supply and demand. More hotels are adopting dynamic pricing systems to sharpen pricing competitiveness and maximize profitability.

Impact AI is a KAIST Graduate School of Business spin-off founded in 2022 — the business school's first faculty-led startup. The company uses AI and big data to solve inefficiencies across traditional industries. It has launched OASIS, an AI-powered ad-tech solution that maximizes advertising ROI, and is rolling out demand forecasting AI across multiple sectors.

Since 2016, ONDA has led the digital transformation of Korea's hospitality industry by supplying self-developed solutions including ONDA HUB (channel manager) and PMS (property management system). Through this partnership, ONDA plans to deepen its expertise in hotel revenue management.

"By capturing competitor pricing, event data, travel preferences, and more, AI can pinpoint the optimal rate — and that could improve revenue and operational efficiency by 10% or more," said Park Sung-hyuk, CEO of Impact AI. "We aim to deliver strong research outcomes through this partnership and ultimately bring the solution to market."

"Global hotel markets are rapidly automating room pricing with AI and big data," said Oh Hyun-seok, CEO of ONDA. "Leveraging both companies' technical strengths, we'll develop an advanced dynamic pricing system and lead the charge in maximizing hotel and accommodation revenue."

ONDA is a hospitality tech and data company covering roughly 60 to 70% of Korea's online room transaction market. The company has built strong partnerships with global tech leaders — becoming Airbnb's first Preferred Partner in Korea and Google's first hotel partner in the country.

ONDA was also the first Korean company to appear on Skift's Global PMS Vendor ranking, debuting at #34. It's emerging as a front-runner in the global hotel tech space. Last year, ONDA was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Baby Unicorn Plus program and appeared on the Financial Times' High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific list for two consecutive years (2022–2023). <END>
