(Press Release — April 21, 2023) ONDA was invited by the ASEAN-Korea Centre (aseankorea.org) to present digital tourism marketing strategies and ONDA's proven digital transformation solutions in Laos.

ONDA announced on April 21 that it participated as a speaker at the Korea-ASEAN Tourism Capacity Development Workshop held in Luang Prabang, Laos, on April 20. The workshop brings together tourism stakeholders from Korea and ASEAN countries to strengthen collaboration on digital transformation and regional tourism development.

The event drew around 80 participants, including the Deputy Minister of Laos' Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, relevant agencies, and key figures from major Laotian tourism companies. Key agenda items included ▲enhancing Laos' tourism competitiveness and attracting Korean tourists ▲providing a platform for information exchange and networking among tourism experts from ASEAN member states and Korea ▲promoting tourism exchange between ASEAN and Korea.

CEO Oh Hyun-seok presented digital marketing strategies tailored to Laos' unique characteristics to attract Korean tourists, ONDA's hotel and resort digital transformation technology, and global hospitality tech trends. He also participated in panel discussions and held individual business meetings to discuss digital transformation for Laos' tourism industry and strategies for attracting Korean inbound travelers.

Moving forward, ONDA plans to expand partnerships with local hotels and resorts to make Laos more accessible and comfortable for Korean travelers. Laos has been gaining attention as a travel destination after being named the No. 1 country on the New York Times' "Places to Visit Before You Die" list, and interest among Korean tourists surged following the 2014 airing of tvN's variety show "Youth Over Flowers."

"It's a great honor to speak at the ASEAN-Korea Centre's Tourism Capacity Development Workshop," said CEO Oh Hyun-seok. "ONDA will expand collaboration with both public and private sectors in Laos to contribute to the tourism industry development of both countries."

The ASEAN-Korea Centre is an intergovernmental organization established on March 13, 2009, to promote trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange between Korea and the 10 ASEAN member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

ONDA is a hospitality tech and data company covering approximately 60–70% of Korea's online room distribution market. The company has built strong partnerships with global tech giants, including being the first in Korea to be selected as an Airbnb Preferred Partner and Google Hotels' first partner in the country.

Last year, ONDA was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Baby Unicorn program and named to the Financial Times' "High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific" list for two consecutive years (2022–2023). ONDA also became the first Korean company to rank 34th on Skift's "Global PMS Vendor" list, cementing its position as a leader in the global hospitality tech market.
