- Building trusted hotel brands for international travelers in the post-pandemic era
(Press Release — December 22, 2022) ONDA Management, a hotel development and third-party management specialist, has teamed up with Singapore-based Travelodge Asia to scale up hotel investments in Korea.
On December 22, ONDA Management (CEO Yoon Myung-ki) announced it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Travelodge Asia on December 21 to pursue joint hotel development and operations across Korea's accommodation sector.
Travelodge is a global hotel brand with over 80 years of history. The company owns and operates more than 1,000 hotels worldwide, serving value-conscious travelers around the globe. It already runs three hotels in Seoul — popular with inbound tourists — and plans to open a fourth in Busan in early 2023, with a target of 30+ properties in Korea by 2030.
ONDA Management leverages cutting-edge hospitality tech from its parent company ONDA — including the ONDA HUB integrated distribution platform and property management system (PMS) — to maximize revenue for hotels and extended-stay properties under third-party management.
The company currently operates nine hotels and residential-style properties nationwide, including its SoTA Collection brand, and is aggressively expanding toward a 6,000-room portfolio by 2025.
This MOU enables ONDA Management to develop and operate new hotel projects under the globally trusted Travelodge brand. Meanwhile, Travelodge Asia gains a strategic partner in ONDA — Korea's leading hospitality tech firm — to accelerate its expansion in the Korean market.
"We're thrilled to collaborate with ONDA Management, a company at the forefront of hotel tech innovation in Korea," said Lee Ho-yoon, Korea Development Director at Travelodge Asia. "Combining our global expertise with ONDA Management's technology and local operating experience will deliver outstanding results."
ONDA Management CEO Yoon Myung-ki said, "In the post-pandemic era, Travelodge's global brand recognition will be a powerful asset for attracting inbound tourists. We're committed to developing hotels travelers can choose with confidence, based on brand alone."
ONDA Management's parent company, ONDA, is Korea's leading hospitality tech firm. It recently ranked 7th among Korean tech companies in the Financial Times' 2022 Asia-Pacific High-Growth Companies list, and became the first Korean firm to appear on Skift's Global PMS Vendor ranking (34th globally) — cementing its position as a frontrunner in the global hotel tech landscape. <end>
