Great to meet you again! It's been a while — would you introduce the property for us?** Hello! We go way back with ONDA — from the days of ZARI to ONDA Wave now. It's been about three years since our last interview, and it feels surreal to be back. The name **'Sun & Moon Resort'** captures the beauty of sunrise and sunset here. My mother — a master artisan in natural dyeing who runs 'Gammuldeurin' — opened this place hoping it'd be a sanctuary for guests. We bought this land 20 years ago, but building everything with natural materials to honor the landscape took… well, 20 years from concept to completion. From here, you can see Brother Islands, Sanbangsan (a UNESCO Global Geopark site), and Hallasan. Sagye Beach is close by. If you want the real Jeju experience, this is it. --- ### **Q2. Three years! What's new at Sun & Moon Resort?** Around November 2019, we did a major remodel — beds, sofas, the works — to nail that boutique resort vibe. We got rid of anything that felt dated. Picture this: grilling by the sea at night, watching the soft lights of fishing boats on the horizon. Pure romance. The swing chairs face the ocean — they're enclosed but transparent, so you get total privacy while the view stays unobstructed. Brother Islands and Sagye Beach make the perfect backdrop. It's become our new photo spot. --- ### **Q3. Sun & Moon has stayed popular. What's your secret?** We're third-generation natural dyers — running accommodations was new to us. Looking back, we were pretty rough around the edges. So we obsessed over reviews. We talked to guests constantly. They gave us advice. **Every change we've made came from guest feedback.** Take breakfast. We started with pastries and sweet stuff. Guests said it was too heavy in the morning. Now we do seasonal fruit, ham-and-cheese sandwiches — American-style continental. The reviews love it. Your service is famously warm. What's your approach with guests?** **_If there's one thing we do differently, it's our concierge service._** We don't just recommend restaurants at check-in. **Before you arrive, we build you a custom Excel itinerary** — Instagram-worthy spots for couples, kid-friendly attractions for families, foodie routes, slower-paced options for seniors. We're your personal travel coordinator. --- ### **Q5. That lawn is stunning. Is it hard to maintain?** We used to skew toward families with kids because of the lawn. But after we remodeled the Moon and Star building terraces, couples started booking more. Especially last year — COVID killed overseas honeymoons, so newlyweds came to us instead. The terrace really shines at breakfast. Guests tell us they just… zone out, staring at the ocean. Not artificial.** Maintenance is brutal. We used to get a lot of international guests, and they loved walking barefoot on it — so we decided: no pesticides, ever. We have a dedicated groundskeeper, but honestly, all of us pitch in. If you see a weed while walking by, you squat down and pull it. The second you slack off, weeds take over and you're fighting twice as hard. --- ### **Q6. Any guests who left a lasting impression?** Because we offer concierge services, we end up chatting with guests a lot. Some stay in touch after they leave. One couple stands out — Anais and her partner from France, about three years ago. We went from hosts to friends. We follow each other on social media, share life updates. Her partner was adopted from Korea as a child. Recently, he found his birth parents. That news — after such a quiet year — really stuck with me. --- ### **Q7. You've used ONDA since day one. What keeps you loyal?** **The biggest reason we've stuck with ONDA — from ZARI to ONDA Wave — is the support.** Most channel managers have overseas HQs. When something breaks, you're waiting hours for a reply. **ONDA lets you chat in-system in real time, and they have a dev team that can fix issues fast.** I've never had to sit there sweating, refreshing my inbox. I also love the content — from MAGAZINE ON back in the day to Weekly ON now. It distills the industry news I need without the noise. System, support, content — I'm very satisfied. Isn't that every property's dream?_** Jeju gets new hotels constantly — Dream Tower just opened. **When someone books us again, despite all the shiny new options, it means their time here mattered.** That fuels us. I check reviews every morning. I look for special requests from recent guests. We're trying to deliver consistent, excellent service — and we won't stop. My mother spent a lifetime mastering natural dyeing. She built Jeju's first all-natural resort. I hope staying here gives people a real break.
