What's in this report?

ONDA has released the **2022-23 Hospitality Data & Trends Report**, analyzing Korea's accommodation sector using booking and sales data from our channel management platform (OSI)\*.

We analyzed three years of transaction trends leading up to 2022, and captured how hospitality professionals experienced the shift from pandemic to endemic — and what they expect next.

If you're tracking how Korea's hospitality industry is recovering post-COVID, this report is for you.

_\*OSI (ONDA Stay Index) is derived from transaction data across 50,000 properties and 400,000+ rooms using ONDA's distribution platform — covering roughly 60–70% of Korea's online accommodation market._

This report answers questions like: 🔍 How much did accommodation revenue grow in 2022 compared to the pandemic years?

- Total accommodation transactions more than doubled month-over-month versus 2020 — a clear sign of endemic recovery.
- Hotels and resorts led the rebound, with bookings nearly doubling and driving significant GMV growth.
- Gangwon-do remained the most popular destination, but Seoul and Busan saw hotel bookings triple as urban travel bounced back.
- Naver Travel (portal channel) grew steadily, with GMV up 111.5% YoY.
- 62% of hospitality professionals said the industry mood improved in 2022 thanks to revenge travel.
- Government performance on industry recovery? Scored just 4.5/10. Hotel and resort operators want better tourism infrastructure. Smaller properties want fairer platform economics.
