Report Preview

  • Korea's accommodation revenue grew 25% year-over-year in 2023 — and 118% compared to 2021. Even with international travel back, domestic demand held strong.

  • Hotels in the Seoul metro area posted another year of solid growth. Jeju, on the other hand, cooled off as Koreans returned to overseas trips and the COVID-era boom wore off.

  • Pool villas saw revenue rise thanks to inventory growth, but were the only property type where average transaction value actually declined despite broader inflation.

  • International OTAs and portals kept gaining ground. International OTA revenue jumped 92% year-over-year — the highest growth rate of any channel.

  • Industry professionals rated 2023 a 6.9 out of 10 — up from 6.1 in 2022. But sentiment varied sharply by property type.
