# Summer 2023 Vacation Trends

Hello from ONDA.

As this scorching summer of 2023 winds down, we took a look at vacation trends using ONDA booking data.

(Based on ONDA HUB July reservation data)

### **Where did people go?**

The beach still rules summer vacation. Gangwon-do topped the list at 20% of all bookings.

Within Gangwon-do, Yangyang County, Chuncheon, Gangneung, Sokcho, and Goseong led the pack. Yangyang alone accounted for roughly 40% of all Gangwon bookings.

Zooming out to city and county level: Yangyang took first place nationwide — not just within Gangwon-do. Its accessibility and surf culture pull in serious numbers. Yeosu, Gapyeong, Taean, and Jeju City rounded out the top five.

### **Which platform did they use?**

Naver was the top booking channel at 24%, followed by Agoda, Yanolja, Yeogi Eottae, and Airbnb.

### **When did people travel?**

The last week of July through the first week of August has always been peak vacation season. Some travelers avoid it for a quieter getaway. But most still chose those dates.
