# How to Build a Steady Stream of Great Reviews

Hello. We're **ONDA, the digital hospitality platform company.**

How does an editor who works in hospitality search for accommodations?

Just like most guests: I start with a portal or OTA search.

Something like "Gapyeong glamping river view," browse a few properties,

then visit their websites to check photos and details.

And before I commit? I read the reviews. **No matter how beautiful the photos are, if actual guests gave it poor marks, I hesitate.**

Especially on Naver—one of Korea's top booking platforms—reviews matter more than ever. After a service overhaul in 2022, [keyword reviews hit 150 million](https://www.yna.co.kr/view/AKR20221221135100017). **With that much participation, reviews inevitably drive booking behavior.**

If guests are satisfied with their stay, great reviews will naturally follow.

So how do you create the conditions for great reviews? Here are three foundational operating tips that work in practice.

### **Step 1. The foundation: Organization and tidiness**

Cleanliness is table stakes. But to make a strong first impression, everything needs to look *intentionally arranged*.

Especially bathroom and kitchen amenities—**consistency is key.**

Amenities, for example: dispensers (like in the photo above) cut down on single-use plastics and look visibly cleaner.

Same with towels. Carelessly folded towels versus crisp, squared edges? The latter wins every time. Check out [hotel-style towel folding](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ixmatYhwsmA) tutorials for reference.

Hotels typically use 200g towels in soft coma cotton or bamboo yarn. And no matter how premium the towels, replace them every 1–2 years.

### **Step 2. A touch of atmosphere: Lighting and décor**

Still running the same setup from day one?

**Upgrade the vibe with thoughtful lighting and accessories**—especially for trend-conscious guests.

Place modern lamps next to sofas, bedside tables, kitchen counters—they create warmth and mood instantly.

Want more character? Try vintage statement lighting.

Beyond lighting, what else changes the room's feel affordably?

If the view is uninspiring or certain areas look cluttered, **fabric posters** can subtly cover flaws and become focal points.

For a modern aesthetic, add plaster sculptures. For a livelier feel, arrange faux florals in vases around the room.

### **Step 3. Thoughtful details**

_"Detail is ultimately about communication. It's about understanding what guests want—or find uncomfortable—and delivering benefits in a way they notice. You might think small gestures go unnoticed. In my experience, someone always notices. And they always talk about it."_ — *The Details of Kyoto* (Saenggak Note)

From the introduction to *The Details of Kyoto*. **Details that prioritize guest comfort and delight always surface in reviews.**

[Airbnb](https://www.airbnb.co.kr/resources/hosting-homes/a/how-to-create-a-guest-friendly-space-24) suggests these guest-friendly touches:

**1. Storage space, closets, and luggage racks for travelers with bags**

**2. Bedside tables for glasses, phones, water**

**3. Quality mattresses, extra pillows, and blankets**

**4. Plants, mirrors, water bottles, universal adapters, multi-device chargers**

Other favorites: coffee makers, wine glasses, basic seasonings (salt, pepper), light snacks.

These aren't groundbreaking tips—but consistent execution is what separates good properties from great ones.

Once you've upgraded your rooms—from fundamentals to finishing touches—**update your photos and descriptions across all channels.**

With Pension Plus, you can **edit room photos and details once, and they auto-sync across 40+ sales channels.**

Showcase your newly refreshed property everywhere guests look.
