Tea Sommelier–Recommended Cafés for Matcha & Green Tea Drinks and Desserts

Matcha and green tea aren't just for drinks — they're versatile ingredients for desserts and more. Specialty matcha cafés are popping up everywhere, reflecting how much people love these flavors. Here are a few cafés I'm confident recommending:

1. Café Yeondu-Kong, Songdo, Incheon

▪ Address: 20 Convensia-daero 42beon-gil, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon
▪ Instagram: cafe_ygsongdo

Café Yeondu-Kong is a macaron specialist known for not-too-sweet, handmade macarons made with quality seasonal ingredients.

This Songdo spot has gained national attention — invited to trade shows, offered pop-up deals at department stores. If you're planning a macaron café or opening in Songdo, don't skip this one. Their matcha brownie macaron is beautifully balanced: sweet with a rich, earthy bitterness.

2. Tea Café Ang (티:앙), Cheonan

▪ Address: 1F, 5-4 Eunhaeng-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam
▪ Instagram: tea_cafe_ang

Tea Café Ang is a wagashi (Japanese-style sweet bean paste confection) specialist where red bean paste is cooked fresh daily.

Located near Cheonan Station, Tea Café Ang creates artful wagashi — character-themed, flower-shaped, each a small edible sculpture. They also serve thoughtfully curated blended teas that pair beautifully with the sweets, and sell gift-ready wagashi boxes. When you visit, try the matcha wagashi — you'll see what real handmade confectionery feels like.

3. Your Sweet Day (달콤한 당신의 하루), Yeongjongdo

▪ Address: 18-3 Haetnae-ro-angil, Jung-gu, Incheon
▪ Instagram: your_haru

Your Sweet Day is a dessert café on Yeongjongdo Island, Incheon.

True to its name, "Your Sweet Day" makes desserts to brighten your day — handmade cakes, macarons, and tea-ades that pair beautifully with everything. Their custom-order cakes are wildly popular, designed with thoughtful attention to birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions (reservations required). You can feel the care in every slice.

If you're planning a café built around quality handmade desserts, this is a must-visit.
