Online booking has become the norm in hospitality. According to the Korea Tourism Organization, global tourism's online distribution share is expected to rise from 60% in 2017 to 72% by 2025.

**The online accommodation market, already growing fast, is about to get even more fragmented.** As online distribution gains market share and new platforms keep launching, the need to list your property across multiple channels has never been more urgent.

That's why ONDA created a **'Pension Sales Guidebook'** to help small and mid-sized accommodation owners succeed online. Drawing on **over 4,000 daily booking transactions** processed through ONDA and years of distribution expertise, this guide covers **the latest market trends and practical sales strategies** for the online accommodation landscape.

We hope this resource helps **pension, pool villa, and other independent accommodation owners** navigate the increasingly complex online marketplace.

### **'Travel Cards' — the new battleground for overseas spending**

As overseas travel demand surges, **'travel cards' offering perks like waived foreign transaction fees, free ATM withdrawals abroad, airport lounge access, and mileage/cashback rewards have become must-have items for young travelers.**

Recently, not only digital banks like Toss Bank and Kakao Bank but also Korea's four major financial groups — Hana, Shinhan, KB Kookmin, and Woori — have launched travel cards. **For banks, these cards are a way to capture younger customers and boost non-interest income, driving intense competition in the travel card market.**

Overseas spending on personal cards from eight major Korean issuers hit ₩5.93 trillion by late April, up 31.1% year-on-year. **Debit and check card spending abroad jumped 71.4%**, making travel cards a hot focus for financial institutions.

But as competition intensifies, **concerns about profitability are mounting.** Banks are doubling down on differentiated perks to attract Gen Z and Millennial customers — and cross-sell other financial products — so expect the fight to only get fiercer.
