The clip comes from ElevenLabs' London hackathon, where developers Boris Stakhov and Anton Podkopaiko built GibberLink — an AI-to-AI communication protocol.

The protocol lets AI agents recognize each other, then switch from human language to a far more efficient soundwave-based data transfer.

*AI agent: An autonomous system that perceives its environment, makes independent decisions, and acts to achieve specific goals. Think virtual assistants, self-driving cars, chatbots — systems that interact with users or other systems, learn from experience, and improve over time.

In the demo, a hotel booking AI and a hotel system AI detect each other, then communicate in modem-like digital signals. The method is 80% faster than human language — and error-free.

AIs handling accommodation bookings on their own? A little eerie. But it's a clear signal: AI and travel are becoming inseparable.

Another case: OpenAI's Operator partnered with Yanolja at its Korea launch. Operator — OpenAI's AI agent — browses the web on your behalf, clicks, types, scrolls, and automatically books flights and hotels.

Yanolja, in turn, built its own AI agent that matches weather, region, dates, and user preferences to deliver fully automated accommodation bookings. Beyond Yanolja, many travel recommendation services already run on AI.

The AI-to-AI era: What's changing?

These two examples signal more than tech innovation. They mark our entry into a new paradigm: the 'AI Agent to AI Agent (A2A) Economy.'

I first heard this term from Sendbird CEO Kim Dong-shin at a press briefing. A2A describes an economic structure where information exchange, negotiation, and commerce happen directly between AI agents — no humans in between.

CEO Kim explained: "Humans process tasks sequentially — limited by time, focus, and speed. AI agents process everything in parallel, simultaneously." He added, "In 5 to 10 years, specialized AI agents will integrate into master agents that interact with other companies' agents, forming an A2A supply chain."

As Kim predicts, we'll soon watch multiple AI agents — handling flights, hotels, local tours, restaurants, transport — work simultaneously for a single traveler, coordinating in real time.

GibberLink is a glimpse of the technical foundation for this A2A economy. It's not perfect yet, but when AIs recognize and communicate with each other directly, complex tasks get handled efficiently without human input.

Travel booking delays and errors will shrink. And when a traveler changes plans? The agents respond instantly.

"An era where one person hires 10, 100 agents is arriving fast," Kim said. Soon, when planning a trip, we'll assign different roles to various AI agents — and they'll collaborate 24/7 to prepare the perfect journey.
