Diversification of revenue model from online room distribution to operational solutions
(Seoul, South Korea - October 21. 2024) ONDA, a South Korean hospitality technology startup, announced the transaction volume for its hotel distribution businesses, HOTELplus and BookingON, increased by 75.5% and 84.7% year-on-year in the third quarter of this year, respectively.
This robust growth is attributed to ONDA’s aggressive investment strategy over the past two years, which has successfully laid the foundation for its future growth.
HOTELplus is a solution that maximizes hotel room sales and operational efficiency by integrating more than 40 Korean and international online sales channels with hotels in real-time. It automatically syncs inventory and rates across all channels, including OTAs and e-commerce platforms, as well as emerging hotel booking channels like super-apps and members-only online marketplaces. This significantly reduces the management resources required for hotel reservation staff.
BookingON, ONDA’s hospitality commerce builder, supports businesses that need to integrate real-time booking services into their web or mobile platforms. Currently, over 25 platforms, including mobility, retail, and municipal tourism services, utilize BookingON to provide hotel booking services for over 40,000 accommodations worldwide.
BookingON has also received positive feedback for offering competitive rates on internationally renowned hotels to Korean travelers. The service is expected to expand into a corporate cloud-based service for business travel management.
In addition, ONDA is diversifying its revenue model by expanding beyond room distribution to hotel operations and management solutions. The company is accelerating its international expansion with cloud-based solutions, such as Central Reservation Systems (CRS) and Property Management Systems (PMS), which are key to the digital transformation of hotels. ONDA also plans to release an AI-based Revenue Management System (RMS) by the end of the year to help hotels maximize their revenue.
“We are seeing the results of our bold investments in hotel room distribution and operational solutions starting in 2022,” said Hyunseok Oh, CEO of ONDA. “We will continue to prove ONDA’s competitiveness not only in Korea but also in the global hotel market.”
